Bets: November 6, 2013

Record before tonight: 19 - 9
Last night: 8 - 0

Yes, it is true. I went undefeated last night. Shout out to the Minnesota Timberwolves who even though they were clearly going to lose, played hard at the end and beat the spread. It's always hard for me to bet against Kevin Love and I'm glad I didn't. Speaking of Kevin Love...

Golden State @ Timberwolves
Spread: -1 Warriors

Like I said, I hate betting against Kevin Love. But who is going to guard the Splash Brothers tonight? Certainly not Kevin Martin. Corey Brewer maybe. Curry will have his way against Rubio tonight and Love will have his share of match ups tonight with a towering Warrior front court in David Lee and Andrew Bogut. Still, Kevin Love is a man on a mission this season and isn't going to back down against a hot Warriors team. The Wolves are at home, if it was in Golden State I would have picked the Dubs, and will hopefully keep it close tonight and maybe pull out another win.

Pick: Timberwolves

Toronto @ Charlotte
Spread: -2.5 Raptors

The Junior Varsity team against the Junior Junior Varsity team. Which one is which? Doesn't even matter. These are two of the worst teams in the East and is one of the few games that the Raptors are picked to win. But they're the Raptors. They played Miami last night and are away in Charlotte, who's home court is as intimidating as a teddy bear. Kemba Walker and company will hopefully keep it close tonight against their fellow bottom feeding team, but honestly, nobody cares.

Pick: Charlotte

Chicago @ Indiana
Spread: -3 Indiana

What a game! Derrick Rose, Paul George, Joakim Noah, Roy Hibbert. I love it. Though Rose has been a little rusty, I'm surprised the spread has Indiana winning by 3. Actually, never mind. I just looked at their records and Indiana is the only undefeated team left at 4 - 0 while the Bulls are struggling at 1 - 2. These division rivals should make a great game tonight and I'm betting that Chicago has a break out game tonight!

Pick: Chicago

Clippers @ Orlando
Spread: -7 Clippers

Orlando has been a pleasant surprise so far with a .500 record. Victor Oladipo is a co-Rookie of the Year candidate with Michael Carter-Williams, but has to do something about turnovers. Though he's just a rookie, and rookies turn the ball over like nobody's business, if he can take a little bit better care of the ball he should be a lock for the ROY. He has the talent and athleticism to keep up with Chris Paul tonight, but you know Paul is licking his chops at the young, inexperienced Rookie. Look for Paul to go off, again, Vucevic will have a good game, and hopefully the Magic will beat the spread in garbage minutes.

Pick: Orlando

Utah @ Boston
Spread: -3.5 Boston

Two tanking teams. Nobody cares. Utah played last night but I don't like Boston.

Pick: Utah

New Orleans @ Memphis
Spread: -7.5 Grizz

Anthony Davis has been playing like an all-star though his team has only won one game so far this season. The new look team needs more time to gel and it won't happen tonight against the Grizzlies. The Grizzlies play great defense and will constantly disrupt the Pelicans' offense tonight. Also, Anthony Davis might be dead at the end of the game after going against ground and pound, Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph. Still, Davis has impressed me enough to not want to bet against and the Grizzlies have stumbled out of the gate with a 2 - 2 record.

Pick: New Orleans

Cleveland @ Bucks
Spread: -1.5 Cavs

Can I even name five players on the Bucks? Brandon Knight, Larry Sanders, Illyasova, Drew Gooden? I don't think the Bucks should exist, it's a waste of a team. I digress. Kyrie Irving loves to play hero ball and it shouldn't be too difficult against a below-average Bucks defense. Larry Sanders and Caron Butler are good defenders but the system as a whole should be easy for Irving to penetrate through. Am I talking out of my ass?

Pick: Cavs

Phoenix @ San Antonio
Spread: -13 SA

Just like old times. This match up used to be the best, most exciting one in the NBA and it still means something to me. These two teams have been rivals for decades and I love the competitiveness night in and night out. Goran Dragic is out but Eric Bledsoe has been playing at a superstar level and Tony Parker won't be able to stay in front of him tonight. The Spurs will obviously win but the spread margin is so big that the Suns should be able to keep it within 13 points by the end of the game.

Pick: Suns

Dallas @ OKC
Spread: -7 OKC

This makes me think of the 2011 playoffs when Dirk went crazy and made every single shot he took. Russell Westbrook is back and the rust will hopefully be gone tonight. The duo of Westbrook and Durant will win nine times of ten no matter who else in on their teams but Dallas has been another pleasant surprise at 3 - 1. They played last night and the fatigue will be there, but the trio of Monta Ellis, Jose Calderon and Dirk has been firing on all cylinders and should keep it a competitive game tonight. Go Mavs. (I'm not biased)

Pick: Dallas
