Record before tonight: 7 - 4
It went pretty well on Friday night, I went 4 - 2. I'm up to 10 bucks in my Bovada account, which is still pretty sad considering I was at over $100 at one point.
Celtics @ Pistons
Spread: Celtics +9.5
After Gerald Wallace's complaints about this team's effort and selfishness I don't think I'm going to be picking Boston for a while. Rajon Rondo is out indefinitely, Kris Humphries isn't having the season most expected from him and Jeff Green is the most inconsistent player in this league. The Pistons, on the other hand, have a newly constructed team who are currently 1 - 0.
Pick: Pistons
Wizards @ Heat
Spread: Heat -13
I think this is the highest spread so far. Even though Washington is 0 - 2, John Wall had 26 points last game and is trying to live up to his contract. Coach Randy Wittman recently blasted his team about their lack of commitment to defense, something you must play well to have any chance against Miami. I just convinced myself to pick LeBron James Miami.
Pick: Miami
Nets @ Magic
Spread: Nets -6
I'm surprised the spread is this low with Brooklyn coming off an impressive win against Miami. Orlando is 1 - 2 and giving most of the playing time to inexperienced kids. The Nets, full of veterans, should dominate.
Pick: Nets
Suns @ Thunder
Pick: Thunder -13
Russell Westbrook is back, baby. And what better game to showcase his return than one against the run n' gun Phoenix Suns. Eric Bledsoe had an amazing buzzer beater against Utah, but OKC is at home with one of the best crowds in the NBA and, seriously, Russell Westbrook is back.
Pick: Thunder
Timberwolves @ Knicks
Spread: +3.5 Wolves
Kevin Love has lead his team to an undefeated 2 - 0 record. He is a man on a mission this season and I am rarely going to bet against him. The Knicks, similarly, have also being playing pretty well, especially Tyson Chandler. A Kevin Love-Tyson Chandler show down will certainly make for an interesting game.
Pick: Wolves
Hawks @ Lakers
Spread: -1 Hawks
Your guess is as good as mine. The Lakers were all the buzz after winning on opening night but has since lost their last two games. I haven't even see Atlanta play yet because they might be the most boring team in the league now that Josh Smith is gone, but Al Horford is going to kill Chris Kaman tonight.
Pick: Hawks
