Update: The Knicks kept it close just like I predicted, but Chris Paul went off, more so than Stephen Curry who also went off, to lead his team over the spread against GSW.
The day: 1 - 1
Overall: 3 - 2
Starting the season off with a 2 - 1 record isn't bad, especially considering that nobody would have picked the Lakers to beat the Clippers. No Kobe Bryant, an injured Steve Nash, and, of course, no Dwight Howard is no way to start the season; but the new-look Lakers prevailed.
Tonight's only two games are on TNT and should be great ones.
Knicks @ Bulls
Spread: Bulls -8
I'm surprised to see the spread in the Bulls' favor, especially by eight points. New York is a competitive team and this should be a nail biter between the two conference powerhouses. Expect it to be a Carmelo Anthony - Derrick Rose showdown with a little bit of Tyson Chandler and Joakim Noah banging down in the paint. The Bulls looked a little rusty against Miami on opening night and Derrick Rose had an off shooting night in his debut in more than a year. Still, it's hard to count Derrick Rose out, but even if he has a 40 point game I still see the Knicks to be able to remain within 8 points.
Pick: Knicks
Warriors @ Clippers
After a pitiful effort by the Clippers opening night against the Lakers and a spectacular Warriors performance last night, I'm surprised the spread isn't in favor of Golden State. The Warriors will shoot the lights out tonight against Clippers players like J.J. Reddick. The first team to score 110 points will win. I'm going Warriors.
Pick: Warriors
