Mavericks over Rockets
The Mavs have been balling as of late, especially with the help of Dirk Nowitzki, as he as inspired his teammates to play better too. The Rockets, on the other hand, just lost to the Clippers last night in a long game. Hard to see Dallas losing this one tonight against their state and division rival with a revived Dirk.
Grizzlies over Spurs
Memphis has been giving SA problems ever since they beat them in the first round of the playoffs a couple of years ago. The Grizz are too tall, too strong and too powerful for an aging Tim Duncan and not-so-amazing Tiago Splitter. But with all the trade talk in Memphis maybe ruining things, it will definitely be a close game
Update (1/17):
The Rockets hung around all game, but the Mavs ended up prevailing thanks to a big game by Dirk. James Harden played less than stellar and didn't have the best shooting night but the Rockets impressively stayed in the game until the end.
Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph did not show up like I thought, while Tim Duncan and Tony Parker had great games to destroy the recently struggling Grizzlies.
